Double-trunk tree design often appears in the form of one large and one small, one high and one low, and one old and one young. The specific design can be divided into two types:
1. Old and young style double-trunk tree, also known as Gongsun tree
2. Couple style double-trunk tree, also known as husband and wife tree
When designing, it is important to note that the tree tails between the two trees should be thoughtful and emotional, and the work should have a sense of rhyme. The overall picture should look like a touching scene of supporting the old and carrying the young or a pair of loving lovers, warm and considerate, giving people a feeling of being inseparable and living together.

雙杆樹的造型往往以一大一細，一高一矮，一老一少的形式出現，具體造型時可分為兩種： 1.老少式雙杆樹，又稱公孫樹 2.情侶式雙杆樹，又稱夫妻樹造型時要注意兩樹之間的樹尾要顧盼有感情，作品才有韻味，整體畫面看上去要像扶老攜幼感人場面或一對情意綿綿的情侶，溫馨備至，給予人一種難解難分，相依為命的感覺。
