"Ancient Roots, Modern Bloom" takes its name from a traditional Lingnan penjing technique and embodies more than three decades of family heritage. The red‑fruit branches used in this work were cultivated by Master Wong Chau Shing, beginning in 1992. Shaped through time, care, and mastery, these branches have matured into a rare convergence of age, culture, and nature—materials that cannot be replicated.

In this interactive sculpture, each branch is “re‑clothed” in a distinct visual language—black lacquer with gold, blue‑and‑white porcelain motifs, and contemporary hues of pink and turquoise—symbolising the interweaving of culture, time, modernity, and personal memory. The silver magnetic bases allow the branches to be freely rearranged, transforming the work into a sculptural system that is participatory, reconfigurable, and continually evolving.

Inspired by tradition yet unbound by it, the work extends the spirit of Lingnan penjing into a contemporary context, allowing natural materials, cultural symbols, and future imagination to coexist within a single sculptural form.

《脫衣換錦》以嶺南盆景技法為名，承載著跨越三十年的家族傳承。作品所使用的紅果老枝由黃就成大師自1992年起親手栽培，經歲月淬鍊而成，是年代、文化與自然交織而成的獨特結晶，亦是當代藝術中罕見的原生材料。

在這件互動雕塑中，枝條以黑漆描金、青花瓷、粉色與青綠色等多重語彙重新「換錦」，象徵文化、時間、現代性與個人記憶的交織。銀色枝座以磁吸方式使枝條可自由組構，創造出一件可參與、可重組、可延展的雕塑作品，使收藏者能親自參與作品的生成與變化。

作品以傳統為啟發，卻不受傳統所限。它將嶺南盆景的精神延伸至當代語境之中，讓自然材料、文化符號與未來想像在同一件作品中共存。
