“Hong Kong, Hong Kong” - Kammy takes as the core of her creation a deadwood Diospyros armata trunk cultivated by Master Wong Chau Shing, over seventeen years, with a total age of more than fifty years. Reimagined through the concept of a “three‑dimensional painting,” the work begins by immersing the trunk in protective varnish, followed by successive layers of resin to reinforce its structure and repair insect‑eaten decay, granting the wood renewed structural life. She then inlays pieces of jade, mother‑of‑pearl, pearls, and semi‑precious stones into the trunk, symbolising the diverse talents and cultures that have converged in Hong Kong since its early development. Crushed jade is used to reconstruct the contours of Hong Kong’s mountain ranges, merging the imagery of nature and city into a unified whole.
The work is both a continuation and transformation of her father’s bonsai artistry, as well as a response to Hong Kong’s history and spirit. “Hong Kong, Hong Kong” traces the city’s evolution from a weathered fishing harbour into the “Pearl of the Orient,” embodying resilience, convergence, and renewal.
《香港.香港》 黃錦敏以黃就成大師栽培十七年,樹齡逾五十年的金彈子枯樹樁為創作核心,並以「立體的畫」為概念進行重塑,把枯樹樁浸泡於護木清漆中,再以樹脂逐層加固,修補蟲蛀腐朽,使其重新獲得結構生命。其後,她將翡翠、珍珠母貝、珍珠與半寶石逐顆嵌入樹樁,象徵香港自開埠以來匯聚世界各地人才與文化的多元面貌;碎翡翠則重塑香港山脈的地勢,將自然與城市的形象融為一體。
作品既是對父親盆景藝術的延續與轉化,也是對香港歷史與精神的回應。《香港.香港》呈現城市從滄桑漁港蛻變為東方之珠的歷程,象徵堅韌、匯聚與再生的力量
