Kammy Wong Kam Man is a Hong Kong–based designer and contemporary artist whose practice is rooted in the cultural lineage of Lingnan penjing. Her work weaves together traditional craftsmanship, contemporary design language, and cross‑cultural visual expression to explore continuity, regeneration, and spirituality within nature, materials, and form. Her pieces have been exhibited in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, presenting new possibilities for traditional craft with a contemporary context.

She graduated from the Graphic Design at George Brown College and the Visual Merchandising Arts, Design and Textiles at Seneca Polytechnic in Toronto, Canada. With years of cross‑disciplinary design experience spanning product design, floral work, visual research, and installation art, she has recently focused on advancing the transmission and contemporary evolution of Lingnan penjing, repositioning this historically rich and aesthetically profound craft within international cultural spaces.

Raised in the family of Master Wong Chau Shing, a renowned Lingnan penjing artist, she was deeply influenced from an early age by her father’s love of nature. As a child, she often created miniature scenes and toys from the fallen branches and leaves trimmed from bonsai trees. These early experiences became the foundation of her creative practice, allowing the aesthetics, proportions, and spirit of penjing to naturally permeate her ceramic, fashion, and home‑design works.

Her father’s passing further deepened her commitment to the techniques and aesthetic philosophy she inherited. She continues to explore ways of interlacing traditional Lingnan penjing methods with contemporary materials, design vocabularies, and artistic concepts—creating works that embody continuity, symbolism, and cultural depth, allowing tradition to keep growing within new contexts.

As the founder of Shing Realm and the daughter of Master Wong Chau Shing, Kammy Wong carries forward her father’s guiding principle of “Life continuing beyond form” 「形止意續」Through placing tradition and renewal side by side, she expands the vitality and cultural resonance of Lingnan penjing through her own creative practice.
